Sometimes you think of posting something that has nothing to do with the theme of your blog. This may be one of those times. I am a long-time fan of Jimmy Stewart, the actor. I thought of him as a decent, human being that loved his country and understood his fellowman. He was a delightful actor. This posting has nothing to do with Mr. Stewart’s religious leanings. Frankly, I don’t know about them. I never met the man, yet I always felt I had. Perhaps you enjoyed his work, too. If so, you will appreciate this entry. I did and I do. Each time I hit the play button I have to listen to the entire reading. It’s compelling and at the end, i’m not sure, but it just might be a good post for this blog after all. See what you think.
I am grateful to the March 8, 2009, issue of SE Edition of American Profile for reminding me of the poem written by James Stewart, the movie actor. Mr. Stewart read this poem on the Johnny Carson TV show. I learned that the clip of that reading was widely distributed on the Internet. I found one and here it is:
