Only Christ Can Make a Christian

Read John 1:12  by Dr. Michael Guido

A boy pinned a play badge on his shirt, put a toy revolver in his belt, and jumped into the living room to surprise his father.

“Hands up, Pop,” he cried, “I’m a cop.”

“Yes,” said the father over his newspaper. “By you and by me, you’re a cop. But by the cops, you’re not a cop.”

Many people dress themselves in the robe of religion, and they say, “I’m a Christian.” But there are no man-made Christians. Only Christ can make a Christian.

Christianity isn’t something, it’s Somebody. When you became a Christian, you met a Person. You received Christ, and you’re living under His control.

The Bible says, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the children of God.”

Prayer: Father, Thou hast made us Thy children when we received Thy Son as our Savior. Keep us from being stunted saints. Help us to grow and glow for Thee: through our Lord. Amen.

An ordained Baptist minister. Worked for 10 years with a Christian publishing ministry where I was the circulation manager for a growing publication, The Sword of the Lord. I also did most of direct mail fundraising and promotion. I have pastored churches in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama & Arkansas. I served for some four years as Vice President of The Spoken Word of God ministry, Orlando, FL. This ministry was active in church planting in India and broadcasting the Scriptures via Trans World Radio and other radio outlets. My associate in this ministry later invited me to join him and his dad in starting a business working with churches providing multimedia equipment. I have done this work for the last 16 years. This blog, hopefully, will scratch an itch I have for communicating the Word of God to a broader audience via the Internet. I would be honored to hear from you via email.
